Rockhounding Core
A single two-hour session on-site at a pre-selected rockhounding location. You're guaranteed to leave with your own self-dug specimens! Course concludes with a short identification and care section. Available to all ages groups of 2 to 20.
Rockhounding Experience
3 full sessions during which you will research, scout, and discover your own location to rockhound. Course concludes with identification of your new rocks as well as tips to properly clean and display them. Available for groups of 3 to 10, ages 18+ with waiver.
Lapidary Basics
INSTRUCTIONAL ONLY
A single one-hour session during which you'll learn the basic tips, tools and techniques used to shape and polish rough specimens. Questions are encouraged during this multi-stage demonstration. Available to all ages in groups of 3 to 20, no supplies required.
Lapidary Advanced
3 full, hands-on sessions of 2 hours each that will teach you how to turn a rough specimen into a polished freeform. Available for groups of 3 to 10, ages 14+ (under 18 must have parent or guardian present) with waivers required.
Rockhounding & Lapidary Complete
6 full sessions of varied lengths which include everything in the Rockhounding Experience and Lapidary Advanced curriculums. Available for groups of 1 to 5, ages 18+ with waivers required.
Crystal Carving Apprenticeship
This single-student, multi-session extensive course is currently unavailable. Please check back in the fall.
